Regulatory Structure

The Grand Lake Meadows is a significant site because of its environmental sensitivity, the contributions it makes to maintaining a clean environment and habitat for a great variety of flora and fauna, and its archaeological and historical significance to the people of New Brunswick.

It is of great importance to the people of the province that it be protected. A number of pieces of provincial legislation help to do that. They include the Clean Environment Act, the Historic Sites Protection Act, the Protected Natural Areas Act and the Endangered Species Act and their regulations.
